FIELD GUIDE / 02

SURVIVAL HAS MANY SIDES.

The systems set the scene. The survivors decide what comes next.

01 / Play a character and let encounters shape their story.

Roleplay & interaction

When you organically encounter another survivor, play your chosen character. Let their personality develop through what happens in the world, rather than changing it on a whim. Death gives you the option to begin a new character. Roleplay never excuses hate speech or offensive behaviour.

Controlled PvP

Conflict is part of South Zagoria, but unrestricted killing on sight is not the default everywhere. The rules define exceptions for self-defence, defending others, active combat, qualifying bounties and accepted wars. Rule 2.11 also distinguishes nonlethal attacks from KOS. Read all conditions before acting; trader zones remain protected.

03 / Four areas. Defined perimeters.

KOS zones

Pavlovo Military Base, Vybor Airfield / NWAF, Tisy Military Base and Kamensk Military Base are the designated zones. Both players must be within the walled perimeter for unrestricted KOS; an already engaged opponent may be pursued outside. The field map helps locate these areas, but its pins do not mark their boundaries.

04 / Actions leave a mark.

Bounties & conflict

Wrongful KOS may put a bounty on a player’s head, and repeat offences can increase it. Death does not necessarily remove it; the rules describe how an apology may resolve it. Only the specified ‘Wanted Dead’ or ‘Wanted Dead or Alive’ conditions permit bounty-related KOS outside designated zones. Trader theft has its own reimbursement condition.

05 / Make somewhere your own.

Player bases

Build an organic base anywhere outside official trader zones. A flagpole’s influence defines what counts as part of the base. Missing flagpoles and inactive flags affect raid protection, including bases with several flags. Find your place in Chernarus, then understand the conditions that protect it.

06 / Nothing lasts forever.

Base raiding

Ordinary raiding is limited to Saturdays and Sundays in the individual player’s time zone. Parties in an accepted war may raid each other at any time; bases with no flagpole or an inactive flag have separate exceptions. You may not lower someone else’s flags to create that exception, or use glitches to enter. The complete rules remain authoritative.

07 / Trade supplies in protected zones where fighting is forbidden.

Traders & economy

Green Mountain, Kumyrna, Klen and the Svetloyarsk Boat Trader are neutral at all times: no killing or fighting. Stealing can earn a bounty until the victim is reimbursed; unclaimed or abandoned items may be looted. Keep trader zones accessible. These places give survivors somewhere to exchange supplies and encounter one another.

Airdrops

Supply drops bring valuable resources and new supply opportunities into the exclusion zone.

Player-driven survival

A meeting on the road can become a trade, an uneasy alliance or a lasting rivalry. Build a place to return to, cooperate with other survivors and decide what your character stands for. Your choices shape your reputation; the rules provide the shared conditions for those stories.
